Hiking

Centennial Trail is a popular trail in Snohomish County. Built on the old Burlington-Northern railroad line offers 30 miles of completed trails. Centennial trail also offers shelters, picnic tables, benches and restrooms, so pack a lunch and head off for an afternoon adventure.

Sammamish River Trail is another popular pet-friendly destination for those looking to get outdoors. Also part of the same 1600 rail-trail system as Centennial Trail, it offers 10 miles of paved pathways and river views. With breathtaking views of Mt. Rainier and the Cascade foothills, the trail is shared by walkers, bikers, skaters and even horses. The trail is ADA accessible, making it an ideal spot for those with service pets.

Willis Tucker Dog Park spans 10 acres within Willis Tucker County Park and offers three fully fenced in areas for your pet to run free. Even better, each of the three areas offers something a little different — an open meadow, a forested trail and an area specifically for dogs that are older, shy or small in stature.

Lake Stickney Park offers the best of both worlds, with 24.5 acres of land that includes a fully fenced off leash dog park Located at the northern headwaters of Swamp Creek, visitors get a to enjoy a beautiful mix of wetlands, forest and open water, which serves as home to fish and wildlife. The park has plenty of parking, trails, a playground and portable restrooms.

Martha Lake Airport Park is most well known for the Big Rock — one of the largest glacial erratic boulders in the area. This park is an ideal location for gathering the whole family, boasting 29 acres that include a one acre off leash dog park, a skate park and sports fields. Take a stroll, let your dog meet some friends, then play games and enjoy a family meal in the picnic shelter.
